The famous quote by Richard Feynman that motivated towards the development of quantum computers is, “Nature isn’t classical, dammit, and if you want to make a simulation of nature, you’d better make it quantum mechanical, and by golly, it’s a wonderful problem, because it doesn’t look so easy.”
It’s important to know that the principle of operation of classical and quantum computers is fundamentally different. And quantum computers can solve some material properties calculation that is not possible or not very accurate by being solved by density functional theory (DFT) by classical computers.
